Electric Vehicle Charging

Carra installs and maintains electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the island of Ireland. Carra is working with the Irish Electricity Supply Board (ESB) and vehicle manufacturers to deliver a public and private EV charging network and drive the adoption of electric motoring.

Public chargers are operated with a standardised high-frequency RFID tag and come pre-enabled with GSM communications and internal electricity meters that facilitate the remote monitoring and download of metering data for usage tracking/billing purposes.

Private chargers are less complex and more cost effective devices for installations where tracking of the electricity usage by each EV in not required. These chargers are best suited for private or business installations where the electricity is not charged for and/or the existing ESB meter is sufficient.
